The diya's flame. The mithai on the thali. The tadka that starts every feast. Silk Route's Diwali launch is the one ingredient Diwali cannot happen without — clarified butter, slow-simmered the way it has always been made. 1.6 kg of it.
That's the whole label. No colours, no blending, no shortcuts — the promise that built our spice shelf, poured into a jar. If it isn't butter turned golden, it isn't in there.
The Silk Route was a legendary network of trade — 1,500 years, more than 6,000 kilometres, carrying silk, spices, grains and ideas from China to the Mediterranean. Our spices still follow its old arms: Malabar, Rajputana, the Himalaya.
Our ghee opens a new one. It begins in the heart of Oxford County, Ontario — the Dairy Capital of Canada — where generations of family farms produce some of the country's finest milk and butter. We slow-simmer that Canadian butter into rich, golden ghee, the way it has always been made.
This time, the treasure comes from closer to home.
Most of the ghee on Canadian shelves is imported — months at sea, made who-knows-when, from butter you'll never trace. Ours starts two hours down the road, from a county that has been perfecting dairy for generations.
Fresher by geography. Traceable by design. Canadian by birth, desi by soul.
Diwali is the festival ghee was made for — the flame in the diya, the shine on the ladoo, the start of every celebratory meal. This year, bring home a jar with one ingredient and a brand-new route behind it.
